LAKE POWELL COLORADO RIVER.JPG

Where Lake Powell begins in Utah at the confluence of the Colorado River and the Dirty Devil River the stark scene is one that has not been visible for many years. The inflow of water is far less than is being released at Glen Canyon Dam at the western end of the lake. Snowpack in the Rockies which feeds the Colorado is in the fourth year of a drought. Friday, March 14, 2003.
