Jim Howard, a Curry Company housekeeping employee, swept an accumulation of pine needles and ash from cabin roofs to minimize any fire danger during the Arch Rock fire, August 1990. The park was closed to visitors which gave the housekeeping staff the chance to do what they termed "deep cleaning."
