TED LEE_FISH.JPG
Ted Lee fishing in the Sacramento River behind his home in Castella, south of Dunsmuir, CA, Monday, May 21, 1997. In 1991 a Southern Pacific train derailment dumped weed killer into the river killing all life forms in the water. Lee was employed by SP and was called to the scene that morning after being assured that the area was safe, however, it wasn't and he and others in the crew were overcome by toxic fumes. Lee suffered brain damage and is now on permanent disability. Sacramento Bee/Jay Mather
