Sacramento Ballet dancer Kirsten Bloom, strikes a pose in the new sleigh to be used in the upcoming production of the Nutcracker. Ron Cunningham, left, worked with internationally renowned set designer Alain Vaes, to produce new sets and props for the annual production. The backdrops and props were delivered to the ballet studios, Friday, October 24, 2003 from St. Petersburg, Russia, where the work was done. The 2003 Nutcracker features all new sets designed by Alain Vaes, a French set designed who worked with Ron Cunningham for the project. The new sets were delivered from St. Petersburg, Russia and Mr. Vaes and Ron were in the Sacramento Community Center to oversee the installation. The sets arrived at the Sacramento Ballet studio, October 24, 2003; the sets were brought to the Community Center Theatre, November 28, 2003.
