Joe Kulak <cq>, from Colorado, gets a jolt from dunking his head as he crossed the Middle Fork of the American River during the Western States 100 mile Endurance Run Saturday, June 28, 2003. He would go on to finish 6th in the rce. It was the 30th annual ultra-marathon run from Squaw Valley to Auburn, CA. At mile 78, the Rucky Chucky aid and medical station is setup to assess all runner's condition and to provide food and fluid replenishment before the athletes cross the Middle Fork of the American River.
