A Western Seagull soars over the coastline of Southeast Farallon Island, part of the Farallon National Wildlife Refuge, May 12, 2005. The refuge located 28 miles west of San Francisco is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is the largest seabird breeding colony south of Alaska. Thirty percent of California's seagulls breed on the island.
