David Brower. Sierra Club, Earth Island Institute and many other environmental organizations. Also a prominent mountaineer in Yosemite in the 1930's, 40's making first ascents on more than 70 peaks. Photographed in his Berkeley, CA home in 1992. Brower died in 2000.
