FL CLUB CAR MAN.JPG
The Amtrak Floridian passenger train that operated between Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida ceased operation in 1979. It was the last passenger train that serviced Louisville. Kentucky as well. These photographs document the final days for the workers in the Chicago Yards, the Amtrak employees aboard the train, an engineer,, W.C. Roddy, that drove the train between Louisville and Bowling Green, KY and the passengers who enjoyed riding the rails.
Pictured: With his window reflection for company, a passenger sips a drink and smokes a cigarette in the club car. AS the hours pass, the club car becomes a popular place to ease the boredom.
