SALMON FISH LADDER

Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
A Chinook salmon nears the end of the journey from the ocean to the waters of the American River and the Nimbus fish hatchery. The annual migration of the salmon up the American River to the fish hatchery is facilitated by opening the gates of the fish ladder. Approximately 700 fish a day will be allowed to progress up the ladder from now until mid-December when the steelhead salmon run begins.
