The presence of the military in Sacramento came to a close today, Tuesday, April 10, 2001 when the Air Force transfered the Sacramento Air Logisitics Center and McClellan Air Force Base to the county of Sacramento. The ceremonies were attended by military, civic and residents of Sacramento including many who had worked at the base during its years of operation. At the conclusion of the ceremony a fly-over by many aircraft, like this C5-A signaled the end of base closure. Sacramento Bee/Jay Mather
